Illustration Friday: Sight

When I saw this weeks topic a poem jumped into my head. I'm sure written by one of the masters. It goes like this... ahem...
A sailor went to sea, sea, sea
To see what he could see, see, see
But all that he could see, see, see
Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea

Yay! Poetry!

I wonder if this means the sailor died?? Because all he can see is the bottom of the ocean? Oh how sad! I'll just stick to a broken telescope!

  3. Haha, such an odd and funny fellow, nicely done! I hope he has not died, as this seems like quite a lonely place!

  4. I like that you used a poem for inspiration, that's a refreshing idea. I also love your interpretation of it through your illustration. The water is holding the shape of the globe and so the sailor looks like he is the only soul out there, looking into the water with his only meager tool available. I like it:)

  5. well played sir... great job on the kind of reverse periscope this dude's got going on, and I really dig the way you tie it in with a poem.

  6. Ha ha!! Great character, & perfect illo for the poem! I feel like his name should be Trevor or Niles. Love the name of the boat too!
